For my first recipe, I decided to start of with a classic.
My grandmother gave my mom a card a few years ago with a chocolate chip cookie recipe from Sesame Street's Cooke Monster. It has been in our family for a long time and over the years in my baking frenzy I have mastered this easy recipe. Hope you enjoy (:
Chocolate Chip Cookies~
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup chocolate chips1 cup nuts (optional. I don't add them, but that is my preference)
-Preheat over to 375 degrees F
-Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Beat in butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat in eggs. Stir in chocolate chips.
-Almost all recipes say to use two rounded spoons to drop onto a cookie sheet, but I always ditch the spoons and the cookies actually come out looking a little better. Instead, I take a small amounts of dough and roll them into small/medium sized balls. Place onto cookie sheet about 1-inch apart.
